This Privacy Policy explains how Rona Audio (“Rona Audio”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, holds, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit rona.com.au, buy our audio plugins, or contact us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The personal information we collect
- Account and order details — your name, email address, country and any billing details you provide when you create an account or place an order.
- Purchase and licence records — the products you buy, order numbers, serial numbers, and licence activation records. Activation stores a privacy-preserving machine identifier that is a one-way hash; we never receive your raw hardware serial numbers.
- Technical data — your IP address, browser and device information, and website activity, collected through cookies and server logs. IP addresses are also used to protect our activation service from abuse.
- Support correspondence — the information you include when you contact us for support.
We do not store your full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider (see below).
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, activate a licence or contact us; automatically through our website (cookies and server logs); and from our payment provider when you complete a purchase.
Why we collect, hold and use it
- to process your orders and payments and deliver your products;
- to generate, deliver, activate and manage your licences, and to prevent licence misuse and fraud;
- to provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
- to operate, secure and improve our website and services;
- to send you service messages about your account, orders and licences;
- to send marketing communications where you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time); and
- to meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
Disclosure of your information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only to service providers who help us run our business — including our payment provider (PayPal), and our website hosting and email delivery providers — and where required or authorised by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers are located, or store data, outside Australia. In particular, our payment provider (PayPal) may process your information in the United States, and certain technology providers we use may be located overseas. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
How we keep it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including serving our site over HTTPS and limiting access to your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember the contents of your cart, and understand how the site is used. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work correctly without them.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can access and update much of your information through your account. To request access to, or correction of, other personal information we hold about you, email us at support@rona.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us at support@rona.com.au so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, to meet tax and consumer-law record-keeping obligations), after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it last changed shown above.
