Dimensional Space Chorus is a Rona Audio stereo chorus built on the dimensional principle of the classic rack dimension units: instead of simply adding a wobbling copy of the signal, it drives left and right delay voices from one LFO in opposite directions and cross-feeds the wet channels with inverted polarity. The result is width and movement that sit around the source rather than on top of it – and at SPACE 100 % the effect lives entirely in the stereo difference, so a mono sum leaves the dry signal untouched (no pitch wobble in mono).
Three engines cover the family tree of the effect: DIMENSION (the anti-phase voice pair), CLASSIC (two voices per side for the rich pedal / poly-synth chorus) and ENSEMBLE (three voices with a second fast LFO – the string-machine shimmer). RATE runs free or locked to the host tempo; DELAY, DEPTH and PHASE are real milliseconds and degrees; the wet path has its own LOW / HIGH CUT and a switchable ANALOG bucket-brigade character. The plugin has zero latency and, by product decision, no level meters – the LFO L / R lamps show the modulation instead.
The software is supplied as VST3 and AAX plug-ins for Windows and macOS and is used inside a compatible VST3, AAX or AU host / DAW.
Figure 1 – the complete plugin interface
- POWER — Click-free power; OFF passes the input through the zero-latency dry path (bit-exact)
- ENGINE — DIMENSION (one anti-phase voice pair) / CLASSIC (two voices per side, 90 deg apart) / ENSEMBLE (three voices 120 deg apart + fast LFO)
- RATE — Free-running LFO rate (one cycle of delay modulation)
- TEMPO — FREE = RATE knob; SYNC = host tempo / DIVISION
- DIVISION — LFO period when SYNC is engaged: 4 bars / 2 bars / 1 bar / 1/2 / 1/2 T / 1/4 / 1/4 D / 1/4 T / 1/8 / 1/8 D / 1/8 T / 1/16
- DELAY — Base delay of the modulated voices (short = flanger-like, long = doubling)
- DEPTH — Peak delay modulation around DELAY (limited so a voice never drops below 0.3 ms)
- LFO SHAPE — SINE (smooth) or TRIANGLE (linear pitch sweep, the dimension / bucket-brigade tradition)
- PHASE — LFO offset of the right channel: 0 = both sides move together, 180 = anti-phase (maximum width)
- FEEDBACK — Regeneration around each voice (resonant, flanger-like colour)
- SPACE — Inverted cross-feed of the wet channels: 100 % = pure side (mono safe), 0 % = plain stereo chorus
- LOW CUT — Wet-path high-pass (keeps bass tight and mono)
- HIGH CUT — Wet-path low-pass (tames the modulated top end)
- CHARACTER — ANALOG = soft saturation + 10 kHz roll-off inside the delay loop; CLEAN = pure digital line
- MIX — Equal-power dry / wet balance (50 % = both at -3 dB)
- OUTPUT — Output trim after the mix
